Rheumatoid Arthritis - (Rheumatoid arthritis) - a systemic disease of connective tissue with a primary lesion of the small joints of the type of erosive and destructive polyarthritis of unknown etiology with a complex autoimmune pathogenesis.
The name comes from the Greek Rheumatos which means "current", sufiks-oidny means "in the form of" arthritis means "joint" and the suffix um (gr. itis) denotes the "state of inflammation."
